My name is Amy. I grew up in a small town on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Living in a small town we had to find ways to entertain ourselves, which involved being very creative, playing outdoors, boating, camping and spending days at the beach in the summers and playing winter sports in the winter if we were lucky enough to get snow (for those of you familiar with the coast, you know how much rain we get!).
I was a complete tom boy and spent my days and nights in baggy t-shirts and bare feet playing tag and frog "hunting" with the boys in the neighbourhood. I wouldn't have had it any other way...I had an amazing childhood and have an amazing family that has made me into the woman that I am today.
I moved to Victoria, British Columbia when I was 18 years old to go to University and have lived here ever since. I graduated with a BA in History in Art last year and am now finishing up my degree in Elementary Education!
I have always been a fairly active individual, taking part in various sports, such as karate, softball, volleyball, basketball and some dance; however, over the years I have formed a love for running, as well as other outdoor activities, and have become more knowledgable about nutrition. I am just a country girl at heart who enjoys anything to do with outdoor activities and healthy living.
I hope that you enjoy reading my blog and that you are inspired to try new recipes and live a happy, healthy life :)
